“I thought you sold insurance.”
There’s a reason why I’ve been hearing this comment
lately.
Members of the business community are aware of the Workers’
Compensation workshops we’ve been holding, both locally and
in other parts of the state. Two are coming up, one in September
in Stevens Point and another in Eau Claire in October.
For some employers, Workers’ Comp is a costly expense. Even
with premiums going down, overall Workers’ Comp expenses are
going up. Much of this is driven by rising medical costs.
We took a look at this situation and realized we could enhance our
value to clients by helping them manage their employee injury risk.
Workers’ Comp is so complicated that most employers don’t
have time to figure it out. Three of us at Mosinee Insurance made
a commitment to develop Workers’ Comp expertise. We are now
Certified Work Comp Advisors. Within our agency, we have a Comp-Save
Solutions group. Judy A. Jacobs is the managing director.
Judy knows her stuff. For example, a local HVAC and plumbing contractor
told us they were facing the possibility of losing one of their
largest accounts because their Experience Mod was too high.
We
analyzed the situation, asked a lot of questions and came up with
a solution that was accepted by the insurance company and helped
our client keep the account.
If we can’t help our clients stay competitive, maybe we haven’t
earned the right to their business.
