Something to get excited about
The insurance industry has done a poor job helping people understand
what insurance is all about.
We’ve led you to believe that insurance is about fixing a dented
fender or replacing a broken window.
This is part of it, but only a small part.
Here’s the point: Insurance is about helping us avoid personal
and financial disaster. It’s about protecting our assets.
To put it another way, insurance helps to make sure life goes on as
smoothly as possible when there’s a major problem.
If there’s a fire in your home, insurance helps make it right
as fast as possible.
When people are hurt in an auto accident, insurance pays their medical
bills and compensates them for lost income.
It’s the same for companies. There’s just one reason for
buying business insurance: to make sure you will have a business tomorrow.
Thirty years ago, a friend’s mother left him a $10,000 life
insurance policy. That became the down payment on a home. Later, he
used his equity to start a business that’s supported his family
all these years.
In a word, insurance takes the bumps out. It’s about making
sure we have the best possible future. Now, that’s something
to get excited about.
